Harvest Festival 2008  held on Friday 24^th October 2008, at Shaab Leisure Park from 8.00 AM to 7.00 PM.

Please be informed that the concluding Meeting of the Harvest Festival Committee 2008 will be held at Hi Dine Auditorium on 29th November Saturday at 7.30 PM (after the Holy Qurbana at Parsonage). Please invite all your committee members to this thanksgiving get together.

Harvest Festival Programs.

Dear All

A variety of cultural programs and family entertainments are being planned for the forthcoming Harvest Festival. Applications are invited for the following:

Group Dances for Sunday school Students

Group dance is restricted to Sunday School Students.

• A minimum of 5 students should take part in one group dance.

• Participants are restricted to one group dance.

• Please register your name on or before Monday 15th September 2008.

Skits /innovative programs for Prayer Groups, Spiritual & Charitable Associations

Prayer groups / Spiritual & Charitable Associations are requested to present programs not exceeding 30minutes provided they combine each other to present quality programs;  proposed combinations are as follows.

• Group A – St. George & St. Mathews Prayer Groups

• Group B – St. Thomas, St. Luke & St. Philipose Prayer Groups.

• Group C – St. Pauls & St. Marks Prayer Groups.

• Group D – Salmieh Prayer Groups

• Group E – All the remaining Prayer Groups of City, Reggai, Kheitan and Hawalli.

• Group F  - Sunday School & MGOCSM

• Group G - OCYM

• Group H – Martha Mariyam Samajam

Time allowed for Individual programs will be as follows;

• Skit  20 minutes.

• Dance 8 minutes.

• Any innovative program -  duration as per the discretion of the Programme Committee.

Musical instrumental Fusion

We request parish members who play musical instruments to unite to preset a musical fusion.  Interested members should contact program convenor ASAP. 

Ganamela

Male / Female Singers are invited for the Ganamela.  As usual an audition will be held to select the singers.  Please register your name on or before Friday 12^th September 2008.

Harvest Festival Committee Meeting.

Please be reminded about the meeting of the Convenors and Joint Convenors on Tuesday 22nd July after the Holy Qurbana at NEC to discuss following:.

• Budget for each committee . Please send the draft budget of each committee to Harvest Festival Treasurer for review at the earliest.

• Proposals and Progress report of each committee.

• Other items of interest pertaining to HF 2008.

Harvest Festival 2008- Coupon and Souvenir Cover Page Design Competition.

(Exclusively for registered church members.)

Theme of the design.

• Relevant to our traditional Harvest Festival. Heritage and culture of India and Kuwait (Gifts as thanksgiving to God, Harvesting Fun, Food, and Fellowship etc.) 

Application and Eligibility Criteria

• St.Gregorios Orthodox church registered members and dependents are eligible to take part in the competition.

• Design must be high resolution with minimum 300 DPI and in four colors.

• The design must be printed on a A4 size (210mm x 297mm) white paper and submitted together with the original CD

• The design must be original creation, without any infringement of copyright.

• Each participant can submit a maximum of three different designs.

• Please submit your design to the General Convener on or before 1st Aug 2008.

• Adjudication will be based on creativity, style, thematic presentation, color matching, layout and artistic appeal.

Announcement of Results

• The results of the competitions will be announced on our website.

• The decisions of the Judging Panels on the results of the competition are final. If none of the designs are up to the mark according to the Judging Panel, the Harvest Committee reserves its rights to engage a third party to get the design done.
